Summary/ Introduction |
This document describes two computer programmes
designed by Cirad to assist in the management of
collective irrigation systems. Their use only requires
minimal investment and they can be adjusted to most
systems. The development of these products follows the information flow management system. Good management practice requires the processing of numerous and complex data (e.g.: 400 transactions recorded for irrigation fees payment in a small irrigation system of 30 hectares with 120 water users). Two of the main aspects of irrigation management are covered: water distribution and hydraulic system maintenance; computation and collection of irrigation fees. The first software, Aspic, enables managers, technicians and farmers to follow accurately their activities. Information is collected and processed, and decision assistance tools (technical and financial) are available. Following the same model, a second product is under development, to help in the computation of irrigation fees. This product will enable managers to make simulations and to compare different systems of fees. |
